# Windsurf Setup

Windsurf/Cascade has its own MCP config conventions, including `serverUrl` in some flows. Do not assume the Cursor config shape.

Recommended setup path:

1. Fetch the current Windsurf MCP docs.
2. Detect whether the user has local Windsurf config available.
3. Back up config before editing.
4. Use the current documented remote MCP shape.
5. Note any enterprise/admin controls or tool-count limits if tools do not appear.
